Market: FC Dallas win
Odds: 6/5 @
Looking to secure back-to-back MLS victories in the early hours of Wednesday morning, FC Dallas will welcome DC United to the Toyota Stadium.
Starting with the hosts, managing to make a return to winning ways over the weekend thanks to a stellar display on home soil, Dallas should be smelling a golden chance here. Eventually picking up a 2-0 victory against Los Angeles, Nico Estevez’s men find themselves tipped as a standout contender to claim another play-off ticket in 2023. Although the Toros might have failed to collect back-to-back MLS victories since the middle of May, Dallas should be excited by their continued success in front of their own supporters. Including their marking their return from June’s international break with a 2-0 win against St. Louis, the midweek hosts have lost just one of their last nine straight showdowns at the Toyota Stadium a run that stems all the way back to February 25th. It should also be noted, Dallas have not shipped a goal on home soil in over 250 minutes of action.
As for the visitors, while DC United might have claimed a much-welcomed boost against DC United last week, it appears that might have just been a minor positive for Wayne Rooney’s squad. Making an immediate return to losing ways over the weekend after slumping to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Nashville, the former Manchester United icon does find some growing pressure on his shoulders. Along with marking their return from the international break with a 3-1 drumming against Atlanta, the Washington-based outfit have now lost each of their last four domestic showdowns. Likewise, recording just a pair of wins since the end of May, DC could face a tough challenge in midweek. Hit with a 2-0 loss when they last travelled to the Toyota Stadium back in 2019, a similar home victory can be found at appealing odds here.
